“I love the way Nicole describes the journey she walked through with honesty. She brings so much hope through her story but she is also transparent about the pain and fear she had along the way as well. Gavin’s faith is inspiring and Nicole’s strength and boldness to continue fighting for her son is moving. This book gives you faith to believe miracles still happen.”

“I could not put this book down!

It is a roller coaster of emotions. Sadness, pain, worry, disbelief, faith, happiness, inspiration, laughter and tears. This book has it all.

I knew of Gavin’s story before reading this book, but while reading it I felt as though I was hearing it for the first time! It truly is an amazing and inspiring story. It definitely puts things into perspective and makes you appreciate everything in life so much more and more importantly, it gives you faith. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone!

“This is a book you can’t put down once you start.

Be prepared to go on an emotional journey with the mother of Gavin, a boy who was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor at age five. And how, despite all odds, they fought and fought and fought some more to defy those odds. While everyone around Gavin, including his doctors began to lose hope as his prognosis grew more grim – Gavin was confident that he would survive. God had come to him and told him to “be strong and brave” and throughout this entire battle, that is exactly what Gavin did. He helped his mother and those around him find hope and ultimately to find a cure.”

“I could not put this book down. It wasn’t easy to read but at the same time the message of hope wouldn’t let me stop! God works in mysterious ways and sending a message of hope through such a small child was a gift to everyone who reads this book. Nicole does an amazing job of telling Gavin’s story, a families story, and a mothers Journey!”

“Already knowing Gavin’s story before I read the book I did not expect to be as affected by reading it in print. I was hooked from page one and did not want to stop reading. I was living this nightmare again with them but it was at a deeper level. It renewed my faith and belief in all things possible. It is a book that will take you on a trip through all of your emotions and you will feel personally connected to this remarkable family. A wonderful book and a great read!”

“Be Strong and Brave is all about perseverance, hope, and faith. I was immediately drawn to the love and fight of a mom who refused to stand by and let doctors determine the fate of her son. Against all odds, she chose to put her trust in God and her son discovering God doing immeasurably more than she could ask or imagine. Get out the tissue box; this book brings tears of true anguish, complete joy, and overwhelming love. This is a must read!”

“I thought I knew Gavin’s story, but reading from the perspective of his mother was both amazing and heartbreaking. This could happen to any of us. Any one of our children could be diagnosed with a brain tumor or other type of cancer. Gavin’s faith and drive to survive, as well as Nicole’s strength and determination are evident in this book and crucial in his journey. I could not put this book down, and I cried so many times- sad tears and happy tears. This is a must read.”
